ONE person was killed after crashing into a tree along Old Inanda Road, Verulam on Friday.

According to Netcare 911’s Chris Botha advanced life support paramedics and the fire services arrived at the scene and found the man trapped in the wreckage.

“Tragically, the man died before our arrival due to the extensive injuries he sustained. Firefighters used the jaws of life to free the patient from the wreckage,” said Botha.

He said that reports from the scene, however, indicate that the vehicle left the road, overturned and then slammed into a tree.

Exact details and cause of the accident is being investigated. - Supplied
