THE Tongaat Panthers multi-sport athletes Anesh Rampurtab and Naren Rajkumar took part in the popular 106km Amashova Durban Cycle classic from Pietermaritzburg to Durban at the weekend.

Rampurtab and a family member Preshan Sukeri from Gauteng completed the race in 4h44 and 4h22 respectively.

Naren Rajkumar finished in a time of 5h10 on his mountain bike.

The heat and windy conditions didn’t deter the guys from completing the challenge.

The Panthers athletes said that cross training is important as a runner.

The next cycle race that they will take part in is the Telkom 94.7km race in Gauteng on 20 November.
