THE Tongaat Panthers Athletic Club welcomed spring with a successful spring fun run and carnival on Sunday, September 2.

With approximately 500 participants, the morning kicked off with an aerobic warm-up and then the race commenced with the runners enjoying the new scenic route. Chairperson of the club Keshini Maharaj thanked all schools and organisations that supported the event, but also expressed her disappointment when interviewed.

“We are now focusing on youth development and aim at promoting health and fitness among the people of Tongaat.

It’s sad to note for a low entry of R10, the community can’t support this annual event.

We are indebted to all sponsors and well-wishers and to Tongaat Secondary interact club for their assistance,” Maharaj said.
