Panthers participate in Toti marathon

TWENTY ONE members of the Tongaat Panthers Athletic Club took part alongside more than 1 000 other runners from all over the province in the Goss and Balfe Sapphire Coast Marathon and Half Marathon, hosted by the Toti­ Athletic Club on Sunday.

The scenic route and undulating course running along the coastline was manoeuvred well by Devan Reddy, who lead the team in a time of 3.43, and Panthers two youngsters Nathaniel Muniah and Tancrey Frank also finished strong, qualifying for the Comrades Marathon.

In the 21.1km race, Rajen Naidoo let the runners in and Viresh Rampurtab brought the walkers in.

Gonum Moodley (72) finished the 21km walk in 3.26.

The 24th leg of the Thinnys League Challenge will take place on November 4 at 5.30 am, with the club time trials held every Thursday at 5.30 pm. All licensed and unlicensed runners and walkers are welcome to join. Both start from Captains Yard in Trurolands.
