REPRESENTATIVES of the Tongaat Child and Family Welfare Society, patron Balan Subramunian and social worker Zanele Khumalo visited Tongaat Junior Primary recently to conduct a presentation for their outstanding contributions towards the Children’s Fund Programme.

Addressing the school assembly Subramanian, who is a long-standing member and the former president of the society thanked all the pupils, teachers, the co-ordinating teacher Mrs Sewnarain and the principal for their hard work and sheer dedication towards the initiative.

He highlighted that the children’s fund involves “children helping children” and that the monies received will help to sustain the Schools Breakfast Programme.

He said that the children’s fund is not only about breakfast, however some other underprivileged pupils have also been assisted with the school uniforms.

Subramunian added that he was overwhelmed with the manner in which the pupils have dedicated themselves as the little children are able to think of other less fortunate pupils from such an early age.

The certificate of recognition for their sterling work was presented to principal, the co-ordinating educator and pupils. - Supplied.
