Attempted house break-in: Verulam

Members of Reaction Unit SA (Rusa) were dispatched to Inca Drive in Everest Heights on Thursday 16 June at approximately 1230pm after receiving reports of an attempted house break-in. Upon arrival officers were met by the homeowner who stated that as he drove onto his property he noticed an individual fleeing the premises.

The suspect jumped over a fence and fled into a dense bush at the back of the property. Upon investigation it was established that the suspect was in the process of cutting the burglar bars when the home owner drove onto the property.Officers conducted a search for the suspect however no arrests were made.

Theft of motor vehicle: Verulam

The public is requested to be on the lookout for a white box shape BMW with registration NJ 62779. The vehicle was stolen during the course of the night on Friday 17 June. The vehicle was seen heading in the direction of Amaoti.

House break-in: Verulam

On Friday 17 June at approximately 12.30pm members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to a home on Picadilly Street in Parkgate after receiving reports of a house break-in.

Upon arrival officers found that the driveway gate had been derailed.

The glass on the front door had been shattered. It is believed that the suspects were disturbed and fled without gaining entry into the home.

Vehicle overturns after colliding with cow: Verulam

Rusa officers were dispatched to the R102 near King Shaka International Airport on 19 June at approximately 8.45pm after receiving reports of a motor vehicle collision.

Upon arrival officers found a Kia Picanto that overturned after it collided with a cow.

Two people, including an eight-year-old boy, sustained moderate injuries and were treated on scene before being transported to a local hospital.

Officers searched the vicinity for cow, however, it could not be located.
