Pedestrian knocked down: Verulam

Reaction Unit SA (Rusa) officers received reports of a pedestrian who was hit at approximately 8am on Saturday 25 June. They responded to the scene on Wick Street in Verulam.

Upon arrival a 46-year-old woman was found to have sustained moderate injuries. She was treated on scene before being transported to a local hospital.

It is alleged that the pedestrian was knocked down by the driver of a Toyota Corolla after she attempted to run across the road.

Attempted rape and robbery: Verulam

On Sunday 26 June members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to Buxon Street in Everest Heights, Verulam after receiving reports of an attempted rape and robbery.

Upon arrival the victim informed officers that while walking on Buxon Street she was accosted by three suspects who attempted to rape her.

The suspects were disturbed by a passing motorist. They then robbed the victim of her cellphone and fled.

Officers patrolled the area in search of the suspects, however, no arrests were made.

House break-in: Ottawa

Rusa officers received reports of a house break-in in progress on Tuesday 28 June approximately 5.30pm on Ramnagar Road in Ottawa in Verulam.

Upon arrival officers surrounded the house and found that a bedroom window had been broken but the burglar bars were still intact.

Neighbours confirmed that a lone suspect was seen fleeing from the property prior to the arrival of officers.

A description of the suspect was provided and officers patrolled the area in search of him however no arrests were made.

Theft of motor vehicle: Tongaat -

Residents are urged to be on the lookout for an orange Toyota Hiace with registration NJ 61345.

The vehicle was stolen during the course from the parking lot of a flat in Buffelsdale, Tongaat, during the night of the 3rd of June 2016.

The vehicle was low on fuel and had no security devices.If anyone sees the vehicle contact Reaction Unit South Africa on 086 1234 333.
