Biker crashes: Verulam Members of Reaction Unit SA (Rusa) were dispatched to Inanda Road, Verulam after receiving reports of a biker being involved in an accident on Saturday 30 July at about 1pm.Upon arrival the 27-year-old Burundian national, who is employed as a deliveryman man by a fast food restaurant, was found to have sustained moderate injuries. He was treated on scene before being transported to hospital.The rider claimed that while travelling down Inanda Road he avoided a vehicle before knocking into the pavement resulting in him being ejected from his bike.Four injured in collision: Verulam Four people were injured in a collision at the Canelands intersection in Verulam on Saturday morning.Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the accident after receiving several calls from passing motorists requesting assistance at the scene. Upon arrival Rusa members found a Toyota Corolla and a Renault SUV had collided.Four occupants of the Corolla sustained moderate injuries and were treated on scene before being transported to hospital.Details surrounding the collision are unclear at this stage.Suicide: Tongaat At about 6.45pm on Monday 1 August members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to High Street in Tongaat after receiving reports of a suicide.Upon arrival at the block of flats the body of a 27-year-old man was found lying on the ground. He displayed no signs of life and was declared dead on arrival by paramedics.According to the victim’s family he was last seen alive at approximately 5pm that day. When the family returned home approximately an hour later they found him hanging from a wooden door frame. Details surrounding the suicide are unclear at this stage.Mob justice for theft suspect: Verulam Rusa were members were dispatched to Silver Oak Place in Oaklands, Verulam, after being informed that a theft suspect had been apprehended by residents in the area at approximately 9am on Tuesday 2 August. Upon arrival officers were informed that the 16-year-old suspect had gained entry into a property and stole copper pipes. The suspect was seen fleeing the property when residents chased and apprehended him. Angry residents beat the suspect with sjamboks and sticks claiming that he is a habitual criminal and had been apprehended previously for theft.The suspect was placed under arrest and handed over to authorities for further investigation. - Supplied.
