House break-in: Verulam

Members of Reaction Unit SA were dispatched to Marula Circle in Trenance Park on 22 March at approximately 1.30pm after receiving reports of a house break-in.

Upon arrival the officers found that forced entry was gained via a window. A DVD player was stolen from the home.

Common robbery: Verulam

Reaction Unit officers received complaints that a woman was robbed of her cellphone in the Verulam CBD on 23 March at approximately 3pm.

Upon arrival the victim informed the officers that while walking on the pavement a suspect grabbed her cellphone from her hand and fled in an unknown direction. The victim provided officers with a clothing description of the suspect.

Officers patrolled the area in search of the suspect, however, no arrests were made.

House break-in: Verulam

On Wednesday 23 March members of Reaction Unit South Africa responded to a call of a house break-in that occurred­ in Glenaire Avenue in Brindhaven.

Upon arrival officers found that entry was gained via the roof. The entire house was ransacked and it was found that jewellery, cash and other household items had been stolen.

Pedestrian knocked down: Verulam

Rusa paramedics responded to a call on Friday 25 March at approximately 6pm.

Paramedics were dispatched to the R102 at the Canelands traffic lights after­ being informed that a pedestrian had been knocked down by a driver of an Opel Corsa Bakkie.

Upon arrival the critically injured man was stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital.

ATM robbery: Verulam

On 26 March at approximately 7pm Reaction Unit South Africa had received a call from a member of public requesting assistance after her ATM card had been stolen.

Upon arrival the victim informed officers that while using the ATM an unknown male had stolen her card and fled in a white VW Golf.

It could not be confirmed at that stage if the suspect had withdrawn cash from her account.

Officers went in search of the vehicle however, it could not be located.
