THE Verulam community police sub forum of sector three held a Women’s Month event at Acacia Primary recently.

Verulam SAPS station commander Brigadier Victor Dludla addressed the women and spoke about the roles they play in their families, in society and in the work environment.

Dludla also spoke on how women have risen up through the ranks at the SAPS.

He said that, in the police service, women hold senior positions such as provincial commissioners, cluster commanders and station commissioners.

Dludla said that, in his station, he has two women in the Vispol and detectives environment who are holding senior positions.

He also addressed the women on domestic violence, urging women to report all forms of abuse.

Chairperson of the CPF Duncan Dube also addressed the women.

Imantha Arumugam, one of the guest speakers also addressed the women, on domestic violence.
