THE eThekwini Outer North Cluster four South African Police Services (SAPS) Tongaat, Social Crime Prevention (SCP) hosted an art competition for Grade 1 pupils in the Tongaat patrol area.

The idea was well received by all schools and their pupils gladly participated.

Acting police spokesperson in Tongaat, Warrant Officer Manisha Maharaj-Marie said: “A total of 16 schools participated. According to SCP official, Constable Lance Naidoo, it was a tough competition and the creativity shown by the pupils were remarkable”.

Each school took first, second and third positions.

On Friday, May 11 an award ceremony for all awardees was conducted at the SAPS Tongaat Trauma Centre. A total of 48 pupils were accompanied by parents and teachers.

Pupils were awarded with trophies for first position and medals for second and third position. Every awardee received a voucher.
