VERULAM SAPS launched a farm watch committee at Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) boardroom last Thursday.
Captain Mark Prakasim and Constable Rachael Mabizela, who are the co-ordinators of the SAPS Farm Watch, called up a meeting with all the farmers in the Verulam area to establish a committee.
Sixty farmers attended the meeting.

Captain Prakasim addressed the farmers on the importance of establishing a farm watch committee.
The farmers pledged to work closely with SAPS in the fight against crime.
The executive committee was also elected at the meeting with Rajen Govender being the chairperson of the farm watch.

Verulam SAPS spokesperson captain Henry Kisten said: “The meeting was a very fruitful one.
“It was decided by the forum that the farm watch meeting will take place on the first Thursday of each month with first meeting taking place at 6pm at the Verulam SAPS boardroom.”
