A SECURITY guard was killed during a robbery in Ballito on Tuesday morning, paramedics said. Security guards from two companies had arrived on the scene early in the morning and there was a shooting, said IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst.

One of the two guards died on the scene, the other was injured. Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said they found the dead security guard still seated in his vehicle.

In a dramatic turn of events, emergency services received a call of a seriously injured man who had collapsed at the Tongaat Toll Plaza. He had been shot multiple times.

He had allegedly been at the Ballito shooting and had sustained serious injuries. He was taken to hospital under police guard.
