“No case has been opened and the cause of the fire is not clear. Warrant Officer Narainsamy attended and when he arrived at the scene the room was engulfed in flames. According to the principal no foul play is suspected.”

eThekwini fire crew and other emergency services were called to extinguish the blaze, but the building was already engulfed in flames and the rooom could not be saved.

Division commander of the Umhlanga fire station, Jesse Yasadus, said: “The cause of the fire was not determined. When our crew arrived at the scene at about 8.38am the building was on fire. Water tankers were used to extinguish the fire. By 9.50am our crew were on their way back to the station. No injuries were reported.”
