There’s no place for wolves in sheepskin

2017-03-16 06:02

THANK you Seatides Ratepayers Association for the article about our children’s matric achievements in Coastal Weekly, dated February 23.

It is regrettable, however, that while some of us parents and community leaders continually strive to raise and instil hope in our children in a proper and purposeful m manner, there are certain individuals in the community who not only flaunt their self-assumed power and false authority in true bully fashion, but also shield and shamefully side with their children, despite them being wrong.

The motto should always be to stand up or put one’s hand up if ever we or our children err. After all, we are only human and errors of judgment can happen. Notwithstanding, some semblance of remorse with a simple apology is perfectly acceptable and should be the norm in a decent and civilised society.

But committing a negligent and reckless act and then crying wolf to a point of actually attempting to turn the tables on an innocent upstanding community member, has certainly taken on a whole new meaning.

Whatever happened to good old-fashioned right from wrong? Since when did lies rule over truth?

We are appalled and shocked by this individual’s pathetic and sorrowful behaviour.

But worse still, to think we are living and exposing our children with bright futures to the likes of disgusting and deceitful people like this in our community is a sad and shameful indictment that perhaps we as honest, hard working hopeful parents are failing them somehow.

There should be no place for wolves hiding in sheepskin.
