THE Tongaat Central Library is appealing to the members of the public to join the arts and craft team working at the library in order to empower unemployed women in the area.

Vigie Padayachee from the library said: “We want to encourage all women to feel free to join and become empowered.

“The whole idea is to get unemployed women to learn a basic skill in which they can convert to cash as income towards their daily needs.

“We also encourage those who are creative and innovative to join and share these ideas. We also appeals to those who won sewing machines, but no longer use it to donate to our library so that our arts and craft team can use,” she said.
