THE Tongaat Panthers Athletic Club started 2016 with a cool summer morning training on the R102 with participants achieving excellent times.

Father and son duo Brandon and Chris Naidoo completed the 12km in 1.35 and 1.38 respectively with Brandon having his mind and heart set on his first comrades this year while his father Chris is working towards completing his ninth marathon.

The first leg of the Thinnys League Challenge commences on 17 January at 5am from Victoria Primary and the Thinnys 19 km Camaraderie Challenge continues every Wednesday at 3pm from Plein Street.

The club has also welcomed back club stalwart Kem Maharaj and Mala Nundlall.

They have also reminded members to renew their licences for 2016.

The club has also invited new members to join.
The weekend results were:

In the 20km run: Tony Singarum 2:15.

In the 15km run: Devan Reddy 1.30

In the 12km run/walk: Brandon Naidoo 1:35

Chris Naidoo 1:38, Sally Govender 1:46

Keshini Maharaj 1:50, Babes Sithaldeen 1:55, Mala Nundlall 1:55, Joy Rajkumar 1:56, Kogie Naidoo 2.06, Selvie Naidoo 2.06 and Kem Maharaj 2:15.
