HAVING delivered quality education to the communities of Umbhayi, Gwala’s Farm and Belvedere, Trubel Primary celebrated and reflected on its challenges and achievements.

On March 1 the school celebrated its 33rd anniversary under its new assembly shelter. The function was well-executed with the normal glitz and glamour that is expected of Trubel Primary School.

The school is situated in the heart of a low socio-economic area and it was only through the generosity of good-hearted individuals who, having recognised the values put in by Trubel, fully sponsored the milestone.

Manager for Billy Nair Circuit Selvan Chetty was most impressed that the school, which has to resort to many fund-raising drives, still has time to honour the aged as over 70 Belvedere senior citizens were part and special guests at this celebration.

A string of events were held at Trubel as part as of its celebration. The KZN Department of Sport and Recreation with Size Vardhan conducted the KZN volleyball Level one coaching course for 20 teachers at the school on March 24 and 25.

School principal Guru Ramcharan was pleased with the events both prior and after the birthday celebrations. “Nineteen schools landed at Trubel to learn, participate and administer the indigenous games on March 3. Teachers from Tongaat and Verulam areas were put through their paces in the learning the art of line dancing by Bougie and Rene’s Dance Academy, which will further assist teaching our pupils this art for two days.

“Team Trubel is made up of dedication, committed and passionate teachers who education first. The long hours they have put in are purely voluntary and they realise that the end beneficiaries are our pupils.
“I am truly blessed to lead such a team - the growth of Trubel is due to my staff both teaching and administration as well as our care providers and general assistants.”
