VERULAM Athletic club ended its 2015 season in a glittering ceremony that culminated in an awards banquet recently.
Awards were given to each member and special awards were also given as the club honoured the individual and collective achievements of the club.
All members received membership mileage awards. Individual awards were also given to all Manco members, coupled with highest mileage for both male and female walkers and runners.
An important theme that permeated through the evening was the involvement of families in Verulam Athletic club. Pravin Sewnarain and Sundree Ramlagan scooped the top position in male and female sportsman awards.
Sundree Ramlagan, together with her husband Bobby Ramlagan scooped a family double in capturing both the female and male walker of the year award, leading mileage amongst the male and female walkers.
In a remarkable double, both Pravin Sewnarain and Sundree Ramlagan also won the runner of the year and walker of the year awards as well.
Their spouses, Anita Sewnarain and Bobby Ramlagan took home the female runner of the year and male walker of the year awards.
Vukani Maphumulo, the first VAC Comrades finisher also received a special award for being the leading team VAC finisher.
Bobby Ramlagan claimed the male walker award again and Sundree Ramlagan captured the walker of the year award in successive years.
