SAPS Verulam officer Constable Samkelo Damane, from the Verulam Crime Prevention Unit, was chosen to represent KZN police at the recent provincial soccer tournament held in Welkom.

All nine provinces participated in the tournament.

Damane scooped two trophies; one for being highest goal scorer of the tournament and the other for man of the match when KwaZulu-Natal played the North West province.

Damane will be playing in the national police soccer tournament taking place towards the end of the year.

Station commander Brigadier Victor Dludla complimented Damane on his achievement.

Dludla thanked Damene for making the station and the KZN province proud by being selected to be in the national SAPS soccer side.
