MAIDSTONE Cricket Club U13s clinched another victory in their last round of fixtures of the 2016/2017 Tongaat Cricket Unions U13 League against Hambanathi Cricket Club with a decisive win by 148 runs on Saturday.

Maidstone won the toss and elected to bat.

Maidstone’s opening batsmen Nikil Mothi (15) and Pradi Patel (17) produced an excellent opening partnership.

After some quick wickets by Hambanathi’s Damien Naidoo (78) and Advay Bharuth (35), who together steadied the innings with a solid partnership as Damien and Advay showed an excellent display of big hitting to all parts of the ground.

Maidstone then lost quick wickets in the middle and lower order and posted a score of 244-8 in 20 overs.

Maidstone’s bowling attack demonstrated excellent bowling upfront and in the middle overs as they rumbled Hambanathi’s batsmen.

A single stand-out performance was Luyanda of Hambanthi smashing 42.

Nikhyle Govender showed an excellent display­ of bowling finishing with figures of (4-4-16). Maidstone U13 bowled out Hambanti for 105.
