OPTOMETRIST Sajida Ismail of Insight Vision has provided services to the value of R20 000 to indigent pupils at Glenhaven Secondary as part of the social responsibility programme of her practice.
Based at The Grange, in Verulam, Ismail has partnered with the school in fulfilling its "vision" of assisting pupils to overcome their barriers to learning, which in this instant, was poor eye-sight.
This gesture, it is hoped, would not only improve pupil performance at school, it would also improve the quality of life for the pupils and their families for decades to come.

If undetected, untold damage could have been done not only to their vision, but their quality and standard of education as well.

Currently, more than 20 pupils have benefitted from the programme and after having their vision assessed, have been provided with spectacles.

Secondary School thanks Ismail for implementing operation “I can see clearly now”.

As part of Glen-haven's attempt to eradicate barriers to learning, assistance is provided
to indigent pupils
in respect of various medical challenges that they possess.
It is hoped that various other corporate and business houses would partner with the school to contribute towards initiatives of this kind.
