CHILDREN between the age of 16 and 20 participated in the volleyball junior tournament held on Saturday, 28 August at Tongaat Indoor Sports Centre. The aim of the tournament was to encourage the youth to participate in volleyball. The participating teams included Hambanathi, Belveton, Ndwedwe and four teams from the development programme.

Tonver President Guru Ramcharan was the guest speaker at the function and he emphasised the importance of sports and academic studies.

Coach and organiser of the event, Ona Pillay, is conducting training programmes for more than 35 children between the age of nine and 20. Training is every Tuesday at the Indoor Sports centre in Tongaat.
