Wanted suspects caught

SIX wanted suspects were arrested in Verulam on February 14 and charged for house robberies, possession of house breaking implements and house break-ins.

The suspects were wanted for various house robberies and house break-ins that occurred in Verulam and surrounding areas.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said in the statement SAPS from Verulam embarked on intelligence driven operations for two days in the area.

The operation started on February 14 and ended on February 15 where the police arrested a total of six suspects.

The first three suspects were arrested at Amaotana area on February 14. The other three suspects were arrested on February 15 and found in possession house breaking implements.

The police recovered two bolt cutters, knife and screw driver from one of the suspect’s bag.

“The suspects were linked to a house robbery that was reported at Verulam area. Two more suspects are still at large. The victim was at her house when she was approached by five men who robbed her of her cellphone, clothing and TV set. A case of house robbery was reported at Verulam police station.”

The suspects are expected to appear at Verulam Magistrate’s court soon. - Supplied
