IT is the start of the school holidays this weekend, and Nu Metro Cornubia Mall and Galleria have Disney-Pixar’s new animated adventure, Incredibles 2, on the big screen for everyone to enjoy. It is prime holiday movie entertainment for the whole family. It is now showing along with a new Bollywood action thriller, a laugh-out-loud comedy and the “scariest film in years”.

INCREDIBLES 2 (PG LV)

Showing at Nu Metro Cornubia and Galleria

Helen is in the spotlight, leaving Bob at home with Violet and Dash to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone must find a way to work together again, which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible! Incredibles 2 is the sequel to the chart-topping blockbuster and is the new 3D animated adventure from Disney-Pixar, which is the studio that brought you animated gems such as Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Cars, Monsters Inc and the recent Oscar-winning Coco. RACE 3

Showing at Nu Metro Cornubia and Galleria

Popular Bollywood star Salman Khan is the producer and star of Race 3, an internationally mounted saga of a family that deals in borderline crime but is ruthless and vindictive to the core. It is set in a world filled with twists and turns at every nook and corner, which will take the audience by surprise with its sheer unpredictability. When Shamsher (Anil Kapoor) entrusts Sikandar (Salman Khan) with a high-stakes heist along with the family for support, what could possibly go wrong? We discover everyone’s real character as they change with a blink of an eye. In top gear all the way, Race 3 rushes towards a high-octane climax with betrayals, fast guns, fast cars and sleek action like never before.

SUPER TROOPERS 2 (16 DLNV)

Showing at Nu Metro Cornubia only

Fired for their previous shenanigans, former Vermont Highway Patrol officers Thorny, Farva, Rabbit, Foster and Mac get a shot at redemption from Captain O’Hagan and Governor Jessan. The wacky quintet must provide law enforcement for a French Canadian town that’s transitioning to U.S. sovereignty. Their unconventional methods soon get put to the test when they encounter a smarmy mayor, mischievous Mounties, a smuggling ring and a 1 300-pound bear. They are called in to set up a new highway patrol station in the disputed border area and the results are hilarious.

HEREDITARY (16 DHNLV)

Showing at Nu Metro Galleria only

When Ellen, the matriarch of the Graham family, dies, her daughter’s family begins to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry. The more they discover, the more they find themselves trying to outrun the sinister fate they seem to have inherited. Making his feature debut, writer and director Ari Aster unleashes a nightmare vision of a domestic breakdown that exhibits the craft and precision of a nascent auteur, transforming a familial tragedy into something ominous and deeply disquieting, and pushing the horror movie into chilling new terrain with its shattering portrait of heritage gone to hell. The film’s lead, Toni Collette, has been singled out for her “performance of a lifetime”, with strong talk of guaranteed accolades at the Oscars and Golden Globes. Hereditary is a tour-de-force of cinema, delivering horror like no other. This one’s for those who prefer their movies on the darker end of the scale.
