>> The Verulam Civic Association will be holding their BGM on 21 November ar 2pm at Glenhaven Secondary School in Brindhaven. Residents are urged to attend. For more information contact Vish Roopnarain on 0837936200.

>> The SVET Women’s Forum and Tongaat Medical Centre is hosting a wellness day on Friday 6th November from 9am to 2pm. With help from various disciplines including Tongaat Community Health Center, Lancet Laboratories and IPSS Emergency Services. They will be offering free Pap smears, HIV testing, TB screening, Breast examinations, Primary Health Care, blood pressure and glucose testing among other services.

>> A blood drive will be held on 7 November at the Shree Veeraboga Emperumal Temple in Gandhi’s Hill from 10am until 2.30pm. The public is urged to attend and donate blood.

>> The Dawncrest Civic Association will be holding its annual Diwali festival to provide a platform for family cohesion and the promotion of culture on 7 November at 5pm-8pm. There will be cooking demos, fireworks, live entertainment and dances. There will be no charge for stalls. Families are encouraged to bring their blankets and picnic baskets along. >> The Vishwaroop Temple and Dharmashala will be holding their diwali celebrations on the 7 November at 2pm at the temple. >> The North Coast Centre for Alcoholics will be having their annual raffle draw on 7 November at 3pm at 4 High Crescent, Tongaat.

>> The Tongaat South Vishnu Temple will be holding the 31st annual Skanda Sasti Viratham Kavady on 17 November 2015 at 4pm. The procession will leave the Buffelsdale Stadium at around 7pm and return to the temple through Coronation Road. Flag hoisting will take place on 12 November 2015 at 6pm and thereafter Obeyams will take place at 6pm during the week and at 4pm on weekends. Lowering of the flag and Indumen prayer will take place after kavady.
