2016-04-21 06:00

PPS – Professional Provident Society

PPS was established in 1941 with aim of ensuring that professionals can still earn a monthly income if they could not work due to illness or injury. PPS is exclusively offered to professionals holding a 4-year qualification.

The distinctiveness of PPS is that it is the only mutual company in the world that distributes all the profits back to the policyholders.

After 75 years of existence, to date, 2 370 members are millionaires from their profit-share allocations, whether they claimed or not.

Profit share is allocated each year and contribution allocate from the various PPS Group products held.

Products include:

· PPS Sickness and Permanent Incapacity Benefit is a monthly benefit that pays out should a member not be able to perform their usual professional duties due to a sickness. PPS insures you for 100% of your net income. PPS does not aggregate against other income earned by a member.

· PPS Professional Life Provider – life cover benefit

· PPS Professional Disability Provider – lumpsum disability benefit

· PPS Critical Illness benefit – lumpsum dread disease benefit – recently enhanced as at March 2016.

· PPS Accidental death benefit

· PPS Short-term insurance

· Profmed – medical aid

The proceeds from the Profit Share Account are available to a member tax-free at age 60 and this helps with retirement planning for the member.

PPS offers unique global cover, be it travel or emigration, no restrictions or loadings applied and no need to inform PPS of activities.

PPS also offers exclusive cover when partaking in any hazardous activity or sport (such as scuba diving, motorised racing or sailing), no restrictions or loadings applied and no need to inform PPS of activities.
