THE Easter holidays were jam-packed with activities for Protec pupils who participated in a variety of workshops.

Grade 10 pupils attended a computer workshop where they learnt Microsoft Word, Excel and about the Internet.

Protec manager Marion Takis said: “In today’s technological world computer literacy is essential and our aim is to ensure that every pupil on our programme is equipped with these vital skills.”

The highlight of the holiday programme for the Grade 10 pupils was a visit to the Science and Technology Education Centre at UKZN Westville where they enjoyed a fun practical on graphs.

Grade 11 and 12 pupils focused on their studies attending enrichment classes in mathematics, physical science and life science.

Protec pupils also enjoyed a career day facilitated by UKZN and DUT where they learned about all the exciting study opportunities available at these premier institutions.

“All these programmes are designed to ensure that our pupils make wise and meaningful career choices and that they are well prepared for successful entry into science, technological and engineering careers,”said Takis.
