TONGAAT karate champion Terisha Sitaram will be aiming high at the next Karate South Africa (KSA) nationals 2017 in Durban.
“I am going for gold because I want to achieve my Protea colours.”
Protea head coach Brando Pillay, who mentors Terisha, was full of praise for her karate prodigy.
"Terisha works very hard at her karate practice and therefore deserves all the success that comes her way.
“I remain confident she will be crowned champion at the forthcoming 2017 KSA nationals," he said.
Terisha attends karate classes at the Tongaat Sports Centre under the watchful eye of world champion Njabulo Khumalo, a Protea himself and he is very impressed with her discipline and work ethics.
"Terisha is a role model for other young girls wanting to engage in sport given that she has several KZN caps under her belt.
“Skisa Tongaat Karate Club is proud of Terisha and look forward to her becoming the national KSA champion of our country."
President of KSA Sonny Pillay Hanshi invited the karate loving public to attend the nationals next weekend at the Durban University of Technology Sports Centre.
"KSA expects a record number of participants to fight for the top honours in the various categories encompassing children cadets and juniors.
“What is even more is that it will be an exciting weekend of tournament karate right here in the Zulu kingdom,” Hanshi said.
