THE 16 Days of Activism Against Women and Children Abuse campaign is held from November 25 to December 10 every year.

This year Kokstad models supported the initiative by wearing designer gear and carrying placards at a street fashion show last Saturday.

Event organiser Miranda Neo (23), said women and children must not remain silent if they are abused.

“I organised the event to highlight the fact that people must not become victims of abuse and must know their rights.”

Neo took 15 young girls and eight boys to the event, who carried placards with pertinent messages on through the streets of Shayamoya Township. “We call for an end to children and women abuse, the murder of albinos and road accidents. I want the people of Kokstad to support this campaign by protecting women and children.”
