Mayor to deliver State of Municipality Address

The municipal manager, as directed by the speaker, Cllr K.J. Bosman-Magangana, hereby gives notice that in terms of Section 19(b) of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act 2000 (Act No. 32 of 2000) the special council meeting of the Matatiele Local Municipality will be held on Friday, 29 May at 10am in the Maluti Civic Centre.

The purpose of the meeting will be the adoption of the 2015/16 integrated development planning review and the approval of the budget 2015/16 medium-term revenue expenditure framework.

In this meeting the mayor will also table the State of the Municipality Address. In terms of Section 20(i) of the quoted Act, the public, media and interested parties may attend the meeting as observers.

The meeting will be broadcast live on Alfred Nzo Community Radio at 93.8 and 98.3 MHz.

Registration of municipality supplier database

In compliance with the Preferential Policy Framework Act (Act No. 5 of 2000), the Matatiele Local Municipality invites prospective suppliers and/or service providers and companies to register on their supplier database.

The municipality will not do business with any supplier who is not accredited and registered on the database.

Suppliers who are already registered are advised to update their documents and information as soon as possible.

Public notice

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 49 (1) (a) (i) of the Local Government Municipal Property Rates Act 2004 (Act 6 of 2004), hereinafter referred to as the “Act”, that the supplementary valuation roll for the financial years 2014–2015 were open for public inspection at the municipal offices, from 22 May lasting until 30 June.

An invitation is hereby made in terms of Section 49 (1) (a) (ii) of the Act that any property owner or other person who so desires, should lodge an objection with the municipal manager in respect of any matter reflected in, or omitted from, the supplementary valuation roll as such.

The form for the lodging of an objection is obtainable at all Revenue offices of the municipality in Matatiele.

Capacity-building workshop for emerging contractors

Emerging contractors are invited to a capacity-building workshop the objective of which is to educate emerging contractors and women contractors about the National Home Builders Regulation Council (NHBRC) services, including registration, enrolment of new homes, compliance, regulations, late enrolments processes and training opportunities.

The workshop will be held from 4 to 5 June at Maritseng. For more information, contact Thobile Mfene, Human Settlements and Building Control manager on 039 737 8142 during office hours.
