Umzimkhulu Municipality viewpoint

2015-05-15 06:00

WARM greetings to Umzimkhulu citizens.

The Umzimkhulu Municipality has established a partnership with Tri-Cycle in Ixopo. This partnership aims at benefiting vulnerable communities in Umzimkhulu.

At Bomvini Village in Ward 3, under the stewardship of councillor Nkolobeni, people received food parcels and blankets. We, as the municipality, are triumphant as we insured that our people are receiving service regularly. No one should be abandoned in the cold while others live in comfort and that is why parties are working together.

The same community has been privileged to host our Mayor MB Mpabanga when he came to do a sod-turning for the electrification project - Nsikeni Phase 3 - which covers Nonginqa in Ward 4, Edgerton 20 in Ward 2 and Bomvini in Ward 3.

The project has already started because the contractor is on site doing the pre-marketing. Despite the financial constraints the government is faced with, services are being rendered efficiently by the Umzimkhulu council. They have committed themselves to eradicate backlogs vehemently. This programme will be escalated to other areas that will benefit in the electrification projects.

In the meeting at Bomvini, the mayor said that the implementing agent is responsible for the appointment of the contractor to do the connections which will take few weeks to accomplish.

Villagers expressed their jubilation about the project. The ruling party - the ANC - will not tolerate people who profile themselves with regard to the plight of the people.

The ANC always addresses the concerns of our people who should remain calm and support councillors in order to accelerate service delivery.

WE, AS THE MUNICIPALITY, ARE TRIUMPHANT AS WE

INSURED THAT OUR PEOPLE ARE RECEIVING SERVICE

REGULARLY. NO ONE SHOULD BE ABANDONED IN THE

COLD WHILE OTHERS LIVE IN COMFORT AND THAT IS WHY

PARTIES ARE WORKING TOGETHER
