THERE were tears and smiles in the Harry Gwala district as parents dropped off their
children at school on Wednesday.

Everything went smoothly and the education department did not report any incidents.

Some young pupils were crying as they started “big school” and teachers worked hard to calm
them down at the start of their
lessons.
