MANY people from Kokstad and surrounds donated blood during the South African National Blood Services (SANBS) blood donor campaign at St Patrick’s Hall in Kokstad on Monday and in Cedarville and Matatiele on Tues- day.

Lyndal Gilbert, SANBS clinic supervisor was pleased with the turnout.

“Blood is seriously needed across the country and people must keep donating.”

To donate you must weigh 50kg or more, be between the ages of 16 and 65, be in good health and must lead a safe sexual lifestyle.

People who have had more than one sexual partner in the past six months or have injected drugs do not qualify to donate.

Donor Bukeka Zulu said she has donated eight times..

“I donate blood to help people who are in need of it and I want others to do the same,” she said.

Cheryl Bouman donated blood for the 73rd time.
The next blood donor campaign is in November.
