Burglary suspects caught in the act

2017-12-22 06:00

SAPS and a private security company arrested two suspects, aged 27 and 28, inside a Pep store in Kokstad on December 4 after hours.

SAPS spokesperson Captain Dumisani Ncongo said it is believed they removed roof tiles to get inside, and an alarm went off.

“Police and security guards used dogs to search for them in the shop where they were found hiding,” said Ncongo.

On December 7, the suspects appeared in the Kokstad Magistrate’s Court for business burglary - the case was postponed to December 13 for bail application.

At the time of going to press their court appearance outcome was unavailable.

Ncongo said in another instance, a case of business burglary was also opened after thieves stole R5 000 from a Kokstad shop on December 3. No arrests have been made yet. - Supplied
