Business partners victorious

2018-06-29 06:00

KOKSTAD youth, Khaya Mkatu (28) and Abonga Ndema (30) started their friendship at Walter Sisulu University (WSU) and now they have become winning business partners after opening a successful company.

Mkatu-Ndema Real Estate, which operates in KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape Province, started operating in January.

The partners spoke to Feverabout their business as many young people celebrate Youth Month.

“We started the company as an idea at a student residential room in 2009. It became a reality after we registered in 2015 and started operating in January,” said Mkatu.

They offer property management services, such as sales and rentals of properties, to their clients in Mthatha and Kokstad and employ six staff members from both areas. They said they want to employ young, unemployed females as part of addressing the lack of skills among women.

“There are many young people establishing construction companies, but we chose to open a property management company because there are few young black people who are in this business. We want to be a world-class property management company and employer of choice in the country,” added Mkatu.

Ndema encouraged young people to choose the right friends to help them reach their destinies.
