THE Umzimvubu Catchment Partnership Programme (UCPP) is hosting a career expo to promote “green economy” at King Edward High on August 3 and 4.

“The aim is to expose rural youth to the wide range of alternative career opportunities available, including in the water, food security and sustainable energy sectors. We want to link pupils and school drop-outs with entrepreneurial opportunities to contribute in their own livelihoods as well as the health and sustainable living of their communities and wider South African Society,” said Nicky McLeod from UCPP.

She said exhibitors will come from renewable energy, recycling, water supply, agriculture, research and conservation sectors.

Senior secondary pupils and entrepreneurs are welcome to attend.
“Organisations or small businesses who would like to exhibit can contact Merida on 039 727 1515 or use our Facebook page at UMzimvubu Catchment Partnership Programme,” said McLeod.

She said pupils were involved in the river walk and life science activities organised by UCPP in March.
