There will music, candlelight, and good company as Faithway College invites members of the community to get into the Christmas spirit at their first-ever Carols by Candlelight and Christmas Market event. The event will take place at the school grounds on Saturday, December 8. According to Faithway College staff member and event organiser Melanie Botha, the aim is to create a wholesome community event, so there is no charge for stall holders. People are welcome to set up their tables and the money they make from sales is theirs to keep. Some of the stalls will include homemade goodies, white elephant jumble, books, knitted toys, and hot drinks. Members of the general public are welcome to bring along a picnic basket and blanket and enjoy an evening under the stars. There will be live performances by the Underberg Spar Choir, Underberg Music Club, and more. There will also be a Santa photo booth, raffle draws, and Bible readings by members of the local church. The evening will end on a magical note with carols sung by candlelight, and candles and song sheets will be provided. Faithway College has identified two charities to help out with proceeds from the event, namely Animal Welfare and Sister Abigail’s Orphanage. People attending are asked to bring along a food item or toys that can be donated to these charities. The school would like to thank sponsors of the raffle prizes, namely: Spar, Premier Resort Sani Pass, Riverview Manor, Blush Beauty Salon, and Round Table.Stall bookings are to be in by December 3. The event will start from 5.30 pm, with an entrance fee of R20 per adult and R10 per child under 12 years. Contact 033 702 1257 to reserve your spot or e-mail email@example.com.
