Child murderer sentenced to life

2018-06-01 06:00

THE Pietermaritzburg High Court sentenced Nkosivumile Sincuba (32) to life imprisonment for murder. Sincuba’s sentence came after the judge heard how he brutally killed Malwande Samo Deyi (11) on April 7, in the Mlolweni area, in Harding. The boy’s skull was missing when he was found.

Sincuba was convicted after he appeared before the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Wednesday.

“The victim went to look for livestock at the grazing land not far from his home and when he did not return home, family members and community searched and found his body near a river.

A case of murder was opened at the Harding Police Station for investigation,” said SAPS Colonel Thembeka Mbhele.

Sincuba was apprehended a week later with the help of community members.

“A missing skull was recovered by the police, hidden in the nearby bushes by the accused. He made several court appearances in the Harding Magistrate’s Court and was remanded in custody,” Mbhele said.

After several appearances in the Harding Magistrate’s Court, the case was moved to the Pietermaritzburg High Court.
