ZUZEKA Nomvalo (27), from Clydesdale village is chasing her dream of becoming a motivational speaker and wants to restore the future of youths that have given up.

Last Saturday, she launched her first book, Hear It From Me: The Fire of My Experiences, at her rural home with friends and family.

She said the book was inspired by the bad choices she had made and she wants young people to get the book’s message before it’s too late.

“I grew up with a promising life. My dream was to travel the world motivating people, but because of pressure from my friends I ended up drinking alcohol, going to night clubs and making the wrong choices. As a result my dream failed,” said Nomvalo. She also had a baby at age 20.

She decided to change her life when she realised that people no longer took her seriously and had lost respect for her.

She thanked her mother Thandi Nomvalo who prayed for her to change for the better.

“I don’t want young people to do what I did, they must focus on building their future. My book received the thumbs up from many on social media and orders have been placed for it.”

The book also received support from her friend Wezeka Stofile who attended its launch.

Nomvalo worked as an intern in Harry Gwala District Municipality last year.

Her ambition is to also sell the book overseas.
