A WOMEN’S gathering held by the Department of Correctional Services from Kokstad Management Area was deemed informative and much needed in the community. The event, held to celebrate Women’s Month and to bring women together, took place at Rest Assured B&B in Kokstad last Wednesday.

Attendees shared information on how to deal with problems at work and home.

The Department of Correctional Services corporate service manager, Zuziwe Mdunge, from Kokstad Management Area said women need to be motivated at all times, saying: “Women face plenty of challenges in their marriages, so they need to be motivated to boost their spirits at work.”

She thanked the Department of Correctional Services for allowing women to work in the department, saying that previously it was a male dominated industry.

Guest speaker Dr. Ntokozo Makhoba, from the Greater Kokstad Municipality, encouraged women to be strong and faithful when dealing with challenges.

“Male employees from the department always support women. Some women have occupied higher positions in the department,” said Department of Correctional Services Kokstad Management Area communication officer, Bonginkosi Mbotshwa.
