DA elects new regional leaders

DEMOCRATIC Alliance members elected Dave Adam as Sisonke constituency chairperson for the second term at their AGM in Kokstad last Saturday.

A total of 28 DA members, who will attend the provincial congress on February 3, were elected.

The AGM was attended by DA MPL Francois Rodgers, councillors and DA members from Sisonke constituency, which is made up of Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Umzimkhulu, Kokstad and Ubuhlebezwe.

At the event Adam encouraged party members to work hard for the party so they perform well in next year’s general elections. He said in the 2016 local government elections DA got many seats in local municipalities and the Harry Gwala District Municipality.

“Team work, hard work and commitment of party members will make the party win general elections. The DA will be visible in most rural areas of Umzimkhulu, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and Ixopo and visit students in tertiary institutions to get support,” said Adam.

At the congress, Lindiwe Magoso was elected regional chairperson of Democratic Alliance Women’s Network, Ntombi Dlamini, deputy, additional members are Baxolile Cele, Nokwanda Memela, Zandile Sibeko, Sinegugu Kheswa and Zilungile Mtolo.

Dumezweni Ngcamu was elected deputy chairperson of Sisonke constituency and Bradwyn Marnce, secretary.

Sisonke constituency’s additional members are Sbonele Mbele, Beauty Di, Patrick Tshele, Zandile Dlamini, Zikhali Mbanjwa, Nokwanda Memela, Sinegugu Kheswa, Lindiwe Magoso, Sbusiso Mkhize and Lethiwe Mdletshe.

Sipho Dube was elected chairperson of youth desk and his deputy is Zithembiso Mbanjwa, who will work in administration.

Zilungile Mtolo was elected second deputy chair of youth desk and her duty is to work with media and publicity, Baliswa Jaca is the third deputy chair and her duty is recruitment and campaigning and the last deputy chair – Nosipho Mtolo is to deal with training and the development of party members.
