Dagga stolen from police station

2016-05-20 06:00

POLICE officers arrested two suspects for allegedly stealing bags of dagga from the Avondale police station in Matatiele on Sunday.
The suspects, aged 27 and 35, allegedly cut the padlocks off the police station gate on Friday evening and broke the door to get entry.

“In the room there was dagga that was being kept to be used as an exhibit in court. Ten bags of dagga, 50 rounds of ammunition, a wood-cutting saw and other small items were also stolen,” said SAPS spokesman Lieutenant Raphael Motloung.

The two suspects appeared in court on Tuesday and the case was postponed for a formal bail application. A third suspect is still at large. - Supplied.
