Dance club members ‘swirl’ to success

AFTER participating in the Youth Provincial Championships in
Pietermaritzburg on 17 June, Kokstad’s Larata Dance Club where dancers won trophies, medals and certificates they are now preparing for the Okhahlamba champs on 29 July.

Club manager, Libontso Lepita said the championships, hosted by Umgungundlovu District to promote dancing in KwaZulu-Natal, were not difficult for participants.

Landule Iviwe danced with De Naal Charne in the junior level two category.
Memani Batshilele danced with Sampson Chelsea in the junior level one category and in the juvenile level two category Siyabonga Xhakana danced with Xashimba Zamamaya.

Larata Dance Club dancers, who also took part, include Simbongile Zavala, Sibabalo Zavala, Omile Mbasane, Lilitha Malitshe, Lisakhanya Gamede, Zonke Gana, Batyhilele Memani, Miso Nyembezi, Liyema Buthelezi, Yandisa Luthuli, Timothy Napier and Minam Ludada.
Lepita says the Okhahlamba championships are difficult, but they are working hard to bring medals back home to Kokstad. On 19 August they will participate in the eThekwini championships and the Ilembe champships on 9 September.

dancers.
