Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma

2016-10-21 06:00

WARM greetings to Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma (NDZ) citizens. This is another week granted to us by the Almighty above.
As we bring you the municipal viewpoint, one must commend the positive feedback we received last week, which is an indication we are on the right track as the municipality, and we are humbled.

Nelson Mandela once said he has discovered a secret - after climbing a great hill, one only finds there are many more hills to climb, and as NDZ we believe that Rome was not built in a day so our commitment to service delivery for our people will take time.

I thank everyone who is doing his or her bit to help someone in society. Many thanks goes to stakeholders such as Social Development, Home Affairs, Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Health, Education, Sassa,SAPS, CDWs, farmers’ association and society for their contribution to the fight against social ills that are destroying society by playing a part in the war rooms, and as we let our light shine, we give people permission to do the same.

The municipality has identified local economic development projects that people can benefit from by forming co-operatives, however, the people who are involved in these co-ops must be passionate and driven in that specific field so that we avoid funding fruitless co-operatives.
NDZ municipality is there to support and develop people in every way and this institution will try to uphold its values and commitment in moving NDZ forward.

The other objective of Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Municipality is to bring about tourism transformation where we will see people who were previously disadvantaged emerging in the tourism industry.
We believe the assistance of people, who have been in this industry for years, is vital in order to transfer skills and expertise.
The KwaZulu-Natal hospitality youth programme is being implemented in our municipality, and we are in the process of placing tourism students in all tourism establishments around the NDZ municipal area.
These students will receive first-hand experience in tourism and get a chance to put the knowledge they learnt at school into practice.
We ask the students who are selected to behave themselves and embrace this opportunity that is granted to them.

Thank you.
