2017-06-09 06:00

THE East Griqualand Traditional Council is holding a dance at which the Reality band will provide entertainment.
The event takes place at the Kokstad Community Hall on June 10 and the purpose of it is to keep young people off the streets and provide entertainment for them, said a council member.

Funds collected at the event will be used for the Griqua Youth Conference at Shayamoya Tourism Park on June 16.

Speakers at the dance will talk about drug abuse, child abuse, early teenage pregnancy, human trafficking and high use of alcohol by young people.
“We want young people to attend and come up with solutions on how to fight drug problems in Kokstad. They will also be given the opportunity to talk about their problems,” said Griqua Traditional Council chairperson, Gabriel Marais.

The event starts at 7pm until late. The best dancers will receive prizes.
