A SENIOR citizens club in Kokstad celebrated Human Rights Day by hosting an bingo event to raise funds for the club at St Anthony’s Hall on Tuesday.
The event was attended by elderly people from Kokstad and included Greater Kokstad Municipality deputy mayor, Karen Walker and Dolly Bihl from Untwist.

The club chairperson, Brenden Marnce said they are raising money in order for them to “properly” take care of the elderly.
“On Thursdays senior citizens meet for gym, to socialise and visit popular venues. The club also gives them medication,” said Marnce.

They also do craft work and visit bereaved families.
Marnce said he believes that Human Rights Day is for everyone to love and care one another and thanked sponsors for supporting the event.

Deputy mayor Karen Walker said she attended the event to show the support and love she has for elderly people.
