SPINNING the decks at night clubs is what Zabakho Sakeni will be doing in the school holidays until when schools reopen.
The 23-year-old Kokstad deejay is a first-year electrical engineering student at Esayidi Technical, Vocational Education and Training College in Kokstad and a club deejay in his spare time.

“I get lots of invites from Harding, Umzimkhulu, Matetiele, Ixopo and Kokstad and people love my mixed music. I play music that people love and enjoy.

“Studying electrical engineering is not a mistake because I want to be an electrician and also play music in my spare time.

“This year was awesome for me because over weekends I play music in nightclubs and during the week I focus on my studies.”

“At nightclubs I align music so that the rhythms don’t clash when they are played together,” said Sakeni.

Next week Sakeni is to spin the decks in Matatiele nightclubs and will also play at weddings throughout the festive season.
