THE KwaZulu-Natal Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) has partnered with the Ubuhlebezwe Municipality to help sustain local businesses in Ixopo.

To this end, businesses were recently given equipment to the value of R144 000 at an event held in Ixopo, where municipal deputy mayor Elizabeth Ngubo said local businesses have a big role to play in economic growth and job creation.

“Government is helping local businesses to fight poverty and the unemployment rate,” she said.

Wheelbarrows, microwaves, cooking stoves, printers, deep freezers, frying pans and rotary hammer drills were some of the items given to the small businesses. Training was also provided to the people who run small businesses. — Supplied.
