THERE was fun and happiness when the Kokstad Splashyways and Picnic event was hosted for the first time at Murray Park Stadium in Kokstad on November 3.

Residents came out for a day of fun with their cooler boxes, picnic baskets and braai stands, and were entertained with music.

“Children, couples and individuals attended in numbers,” said Malwande Mgotywa, the event organiser.

He said most children stay indoors without making friends, so the event was meant for children to play together, for couples to strengthen their relationships and for individuals to socialise and network. “The event was supported by local companies as well as the Greater Kokstad Municipality,” said Mgotywa.
